C’est un appel contre la guerre, contre une nouvelle guerre froide menée par les USA et leurs vassaux européens contre la Chine qui est lancé depuis les États-Unis par un ensemble international d’associations pacifistes et de personnalités:
Nous constatons que le gouvernement des États-Unis fait des déclarations de plus en plus agressives vis-à-vis de la Chine et prend des mesures à son encontre. Il s’agit là d’une menace pour la paix dans le monde, et c’est un obstacle à ce que l’humanité puisse résoudre les problèmes extrêmement graves auxquels nous sommes collectivement confronté.e.s, à savoir le dérèglement climatique, le contrôle des pandémies, la discrimination raciste et le développement économique.
Nous considérons que toute nouvelle guerre froide irait entièrement à l’encontre des intérêts de l’humanité dans son ensemble. Nous sommes à l’inverse partisans d’un maximun de coopération mondiale afin d’affronter les immenses enjeux qui nous attendent en tant qu’espèce.
C’est pourquoi nous demandons aux États-Unis de renoncer à leur menace de guerre froide, et à tous les risques qu’ils prennent et qui mettent en péril la paix dans le monde. Ainsi en est-il de leur retrait de l’Accord sur les forces nucléaires à portée intermédiaire, leur retrait des Accords de Paris sur le climat et leur désengagement des organes de l’ONU. Par ailleurs, les États-Unis devraient aussi mettre fin aux pressions qu’ils exercent sur d’autres pays afin que ceux-ci adoptent les mêmes positions dangereuses.
Nous prônons le dialogue mutuel dans les relations entre la Chine et les États-Unis, relations qui devraient être centrées sur la résolution des questions communes qui unissent l’humanité.
Un appel bienvenu pour défendre la paix, menacée plus que jamais par la crise systémique du capitalisme et les assauts des confrontations inter-impérialistes comme de leurs offensives sanglantes contre les peuples s’émancipant, de Cuba à la Chine en passant par le Venezuela
